I like text widgets. I think they are very useful and really convenient in a website. Especially if you know a bit of html code, you can play with them the way you want.
We’ve used text widgets in all the demos of the themes we have released and we’ll be using them again. Some of our clients have asked a question which I intend to explain a bit in this post. “How to add the images in the text widgets?” You could check the front page text widgets of the Revival theme to get an idea of what I am talking about.
The first thing to do is upload the image in your wordpress installation. I think that the easiest way to do that is this.
Create a new post, click on the Upload/Insert button in the top of the content area as shown on the image. The next steps are pretty clear I think. You need to browse for your image in your computer, upload it, and insert into the post as a full sized image.
If you go to the html view of your post, you can see the code of the uploaded image. Now what you need to do is copy the whole code.
The next step to do is go to your widgets section, drag and drop a Text Widget to your sidebar, and in the text area paste the code that you just copied. Write a title to the widget (or not) put some text below the image code and click save, and your text widget should appear in your website.
